PEG-MGF is a polymer conjugate and the index treats it as a distinct analytical class. The 5 kDa mPEG is polydisperse, so the "main peak" is not a peak but a broad hump 1.5–2 min wide, and a % area figure derived from it is not comparable to a synthetic-peptide purity. The index reports three separate numbers instead: free (unconjugated) MGF as % area, PEGylation distribution (mono/di/unreacted), and total peptide content.
